Hello…
…and welcome to my little world.  My husband and I live in a house that was lovely maintained.  Whenever a real estate agent says “lovely maintained” it often refers to a long-time owner who could be older.  The home is neat and clean, but is not updated.  When I say those words, I mean exactly the same thing.  Think about oak cabinets, flower wall paper, and florescent lights.

To make matters worse, my husband resists change as if it was death, making it very difficult for us to even plan a remodel.  It seemed like there was no hope for our situation, until recently when my work schedule changed, causing me to have one entire day to spend at home while he is at work.  That is when I found out that even though he cannot talk about changing things around the house, he actually likes the results when I do it.  Once a week, while he gets ready for work, he asks what are my plans, I say that I don’t have any plans while I try to sink my head even deeper into my pillow.  But I know exactly what I am doing, and he knows something will be different when he gets home from work.

This arrangement works perfectly for us, it saves us a lot of time trying to agree on colors and shapes, it also saves him a lot of aggravation.  He usually comes home a little earlier on my days off, I chose to believe that he is excited to see my daily project, as opposed to trying to get home before I make any more damage.

In this blog I will share my plans, my projects, my before and after pictures with you, just promise me that, if you know my husband you will not tell him about my plans.
